At Calvary Baptist Church, we believe God often does His best work in quiet places - where roots run deep, neighbors know one another, and life is lived with a steady, faithful rhythm.  That's why we are prayerfully preparing to become part of the community in Alturas, Florida.

Alturas is more than a location - it's an agricultural community with a rich heritage, strong families, and a way of life that values hard work, trust, and staying grounded.  Our desire is not to change that, but to come alongside it - serving, loving, and building relationships over time.

As we look toward a potential launch in the Fall of 2027, our focus in this season is simple:
* Preparing and renovating the campus space with care.
* Getting to know the community and listening well.
* Investing in local ministry and opportunities to serve.
* Building genuine friendships with those who call Alturas home.

We believe the message of the gospel grows much like a good crop - planted with intention, nurtured with patience, and trusted to God for the harvest.  This step forward is part of our ongoing mission of making and maturing disciples of Jesus in Polk County and beyond - not by rushing in, but by faithfully planting seeds and trusting God to bring the growth.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community, and we look forward to what God will do in the days ahead.
